Celebrity visages are common on business signboards in Kigoma, nearly always musicians or at the very least "musicians." It adds a certain kind of character, even if you're not entirely certain which character it is.

This mural is an example of why the celebrity image works. "Where is Ally's?" I have been asked. "Up the hill on the right. Look for Michael Jackson. Their chapati is great."

Michael had a number of visages over the years, but I think Ally's chose well.
